My girlfriend watches Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) for the FIRST time

Its get better after seasons two/three.

If you havent already played the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order video game, i definitely recommend playing it, its canon and the ending to the game is phenomenal, it'll definitely make you cry and put you at the edge of your seat.

The cut on Anakin's eye happens in the 2D Clone Wars series, not in this one.

Ahsoka was written to be very annoying and a know-it-all at the beginning specifically to give her growth as the series progressed. Dave Filoni knew it would be hard for Star Wars fans to accept a new character taking the spotlight away from established characters and so created a new character the fans were supposed to dislike (if not actually hate) just so she could grow in both personality and in the hearts of fans.

I didn't like the start of the clone wars but I just want to say the last 6 episodes of the show are my second favorite star wars moments only second to Revenge of the sith.

They deliberately wrote Ahsoka to be annoying and childish as she was written to be grown with over the seasons as she grows as a Jedi and an adult

When you mention the C-3PO voice actor sounding a lot like him, that's because it is Anthony Daniels! Throughout canon, 3PO is never portrayed in live-action or animation by anyone except him. The same is true for James Earl Jones and Darth Vader. When those two die, they are definitely going to have to retire the characters.

Anakin and Dooku fight in seasons 1, 4, and 6 of the clone wars. That line about his powers doubling should really just be taken out of the movie because season 6 was less than a year before episode III

While it's not canon anymore, many elements from the first Volume of the 2D animated clone wars did happen before the events of this series (Anakin getting his scar and defeating Ventress for the first time being the first example)

The guy from the first episode becomes relevant much later. I don't want to spoil anything but don't forget about him.

Please watch this show to the end. Yes, at first it is very childish, but it will become more serious, darker and more dramatic. I guarantee you will love it.

Please stick with it, it can be a slow trudge through seasons one and two as they are up and down but it picks up in season 3 and excels from then on.

The show definitely 'grows up' as Ahsoka does. She's meant to be inexperienced and a pest at this point but grows into the character that people love so much. The intro voice-over is meant to be reminiscent of old movie serials and news reels, taking the place of the text scroll of the original movies. The intent of those was to usher the viewer into any given episode with the assumption that they hadn't seen the previous one. So even at the start of story arcs it's meant to give the impression that you're joining a story already in progress.

You'll find that almost if not every episode will include a prominent quote from the films, sometimes by its original orator, sometimes not.

This series doesn't really get "good" - in my opinion - until maybe the 3rd season. And I mean mid-to-late 3rd season. The final episodes though... THE best. Better than some of the movies, frankly

Recall in Episode 2 Yoda was teaching the younglings. They train in the temple till they are about 13-14 then are chosen by, or assigned to a Jedi when they reach the rank of Padawan. It is the Jedi's job to teach them, and prepare them for the trials of knighthood. Anakin of course was different then the other Jedi's being he never was a youngling rank wise.

Bro trust me, the beginning sucks...by the time you finish, you'll be sad it's over. You will begin to love the clones so much. They really humanize them throughout the series, and show that their lives DO matter.

As most comments, have patience and trust me you will love it. I'm not kidding you when I say Clone Wars is my favourite Star Wars, only ROTS can close. Season 7 is the best I've seen, not even the movies can come close. Please continue watching it and post it. I want to see both of your faces after the last episode of season 7.

Remember if something is perfect from the beginning, then it will never be able to get better. The only way it can go is down.

There are some hits in season 1 and 2 imo. But it can feel like a bit to go through. Trust the process; becomes so damn good. Some of the best Star Wars. ESPECIALLY if you're into the dark side

I honestly think you guys should of watched Star Wars rebels first and then go back and watch Star Wars clone wars. Star Wars rebels is better in my opinion.

Just lower your expectations at the moment, the series does improve. Season One and Two are a little 'up and down' but do possess great moments. The movie was the start and as they went on, they realised they had more of a budget and room to play with and I believe, don't quote me on it, but the audience wanted more mature content as the stories they were producing were good, but just still a little off with the darker nature that Star Wars has had. From Season Three though, shit gets good and starts to become more involved with the expanding universe of Star Wars and without spoiling anything, presents the interconnectivity with other shows like Rebels and Mando in a way as his story really began in the Clone Wars era as a young child and as you saw, Season Two had a lot of Clone Wars elements involved. Give it a chance, it gets better!

Remember saying “trust me it gets better” and she doesn’t like it you lose all credibility. Don’t force shit in people and if you want honesty you need to be open for it. Many doesn’t like the animated part and shouldn’t be hated for it.

Remember Ep2, Yoda teaches the children and then they go on the terrain witha dedicaded master. I'm surprised an old time SW fan didn't catch that subtlety until now... As for Jen, she should watch the rest to formulate an opinion, things begin to be really serious in Season3 and only go more serious onwards. As for Rebels, Season 1 pretty childish too to establish the setting. Season 2 is the real thing and it goes better onwards as well. Believe me, in later episodes, tissues will be in order...

To stick with the animated series theme, at some point (obviously with the clone wars and all the other shows and movies you’re watching, it’ll be a while), you gotta watch Avatar The Last Airbender series. Hands down one of the greatest shows of all time. It’s got everything: a great story, an interesting new world, phenomenal action scenes, comedy, character development, it addresses mature topics (such as imperialism, genocide, sexism, war, and much more). Just an all around great show.

As someone who grew up with the show and movie, I can say it was good all the way through, the show matured as I matured. Don't give up on the show, it's an amazing story and the characters are always improving

The animation improves by season 3 and again by season 7. Ahsoka grows SOOOOOO much, so give it a chance. Season 1 is pretty universally disliked so just get over that hump

I’m excited for the both of them to go on this journey. Not all of the episodes are great but I’m curious to see how they react to the best moments.

Keep pushing trough! The Clone Wars ended up being maybe the best things that happened to Star Wars for a very, very long time. Incredible stuff!

Ahsoka began as only slightly more bearable than Jar Jar Binks.. She ended becoming one of the best characters in the Star Wars universe.

Chronological order is the best way for TCW. There's also the modifier of lots of the episodes can be completely skipped because they're trash filler. The good arcs are amazing, the others are dumpster fires. Fight me. Edit: I feel the lack of enthusiasm after these episodes, I personally didn't get invested until sometime in season 4 and upwards. Rebels is a different story though. I feel like that show is more consistent though the course, while this is very hit or miss. I will say that I gave this show a hard pass until like 2 or 3 years ago for a number of reasons.

You guys should watch Alita Battle Angel.

Stick with it guys. Ahsoka was written to be bratty and naive in the beginning as a function of showing her growth. The younglings (before Anakin killed them) are taught at the Temple before becoming a Padawan so that is why they have a fundamental knowledge of the force. It is shown more in the later seasons. You need to see her whole journey to really understand her character before her series and see her Mandalorian episode in a new light

Ahsoka at this stage is a 14 year old padawan serving in a war... It makes sense that she's clueless. The mandalorian is 30 years on from this, so don't expect to see the same Ahsoka. She goes through a lot. Padawans usually get assigned to jedi around ahsokas age. They train in classes of sort before this (as shown in episode 2). They learn about the force there but training with a jedi on missions is what gets them experience and allows them to fully understand the force.

This series is a masterpiece in terms of star wars as a whole. Push through it because it gets better as it goes on

Seasons 1 and 2 are definitely a little boring/shakey to like. But season 3 and farther is where everything gets real and personal. This will make your perspective of the prequels so much better and well uh, everyone that's watched all of tcw knows Ep.3 just gets even more sad with this show
